London contractor fined £100,000 after worker fatality

Arlindo Visentin, 58, from Brazil, was buried alive while working on a property in Belgravia.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reports that Nadeem Aftab, Mr Visentin's employer has been fined in connection with the tragic incident that happened during the construction of a basement.

Mr Aftab of Rosebury Road, Fulham, pleaded guilty to breaching Section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. He was fined £100,000 and ordered to pay costs of £61,590.
