Lincolnshire quarry owner fined for unsafe machinery

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reports that Andrew Freeman, who trades under the name Freemac Aggregates at The Quarry, Cross Road, The Fen, Baston, failed to comply with a legal notice prohibiting the use of poorly maintained and inadequately guarded sand and gravel plant until it was made safe.

Freeman was found guilty of breaching Regulation 11(1)(a) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 in relation to the offence. He was fined £7,500 and ordered to pay full costs of £3,437.
