Indian court convicts 7 in Bhopal gas disaster
An Indian court has convicted seven former senior employees of Union Carbide's Indian subsidiary of "death by negligence" for their roles in the 1984 leak of toxic gas that killed an estimated 15,000 people in the world's worst industrial disaster.
Developer fined after ignoring HSE notices
A developer from Oldham has been fined £2,000 after ignoring two formal safety warnings from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The notices served by the HSE required the excavation to be made safe to stop it collapsing, and fencing to be put up to prevent people from falling in.
