A 40-year-old man was struck by a reversing street sweeper at about 11pm in Melbourne last night.

WorkSafe spokesman Michael Birt said it was the fourth work-related death in the past 10 days in Victoria, and the 20th this year.

Woman killed in nightclub crush

A young woman was killed in a nightclub in Northampton when the crowd rushed for an exit.

The Press Association reports that "there was an announcement that signalled the end of the night, which forced clubgoers towards the exit" and then "the fire alarm went off and everyone started panicking".
