Worker killed in North Carolina Ferris wheel accident

A carnival worker was killed and another critically injured as they dismantled a Ferris wheel early on Monday morning, 16 May 2011.

The workers were taking apart the wheel, when a cable broke that was supporting the bucket lifts the men were in. The men then fell to the ground.

42-year-old Michael Douglas Cook was in the higher of the two buckets and was killed, the other man was critically injured.

JusticeNewsFlash.com reports that the workers were employed by James H. Drew Exposition of Augusta, Georgia and that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the work-related accident.
