Derbyshire paper firm fined after worker suffers hand injuries

The Crimped Paper Works Limited, of Chapel-en-le-Frith, has been fined after a worker suffered severe and permanent hand injuries.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reports that maintenance fitter David Millband, 46, was seriously injured when his right hand was caught in a reel-fed machine which makes paper baking cases.

The company pleaded guilty to breaching Regulation 11(1) of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and was fined £15,000 plus full costs of £3,956.
