Elmatic (Cardiff) Ltd was prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive after an accident left a worker with a broken wrist. The manufacturer has been fined £8,000.
John Summerfield, 65, a headteacher who took a group of sixth-formers on to the roof of their school has been fined £20,000 and ordered to pay £22,000 in costs after a student fell through a skylight.
